U.S. Consulate General Erbil’s Deputy Principal Officer Katie Kiser met with Governor of Halabja Azad Tofiq on March 16th and discussed Halabja’s chemical attack 33rd anniversary commemorations, economic development and other shared interests. DPO Kiser participated in a wreath laying at the Halabja Cemetery in commemoration of the victims of the 1988 chemical attacks. She said: “Together we are committed to ensuring that terrible atrocities like what happened here in Halabja never happen again.”
