A moment of silence was observed in respect for the millions who lost their lives during World War II and six candles were lit, one for every million Jews killed. Speakers referenced similar atrocities against humanity, like the horrific Anfal campaign waged by Saddam Hussein and Da’esh’s continued brutality.
