U.S. Consulate staff met with journalists Hemn Mahmood and Akram Tofiq who recently launched Zoom News to fight fake news and its negative consequences. The spread of fake news and disinformation is a global issue, and has been weaponized by certain state actors to mislead the public. Let’s pull together to fighting disinformation – the U.S. is committed to working with international and local partners to give trainings on recognizing fake news, so we can limit its spread.
