The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad is pleased to announce that the application period for the 2019 Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program is now open until November 25, 2018. In support of the U.S.–Iraq Strategic Framework Agreement, this program will provide 25 Iraqi scholars the opportunity to spend 10 weeks at a U.S. university to undertake activities in faculty development, mentoring, and cultural exchange. The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program is one of the flagship international educational exchange programs sponsored by the U.S. Government.
The selection process is merit-based, and applications are open to Iraqi full-time university junior faculty who exhibit a clear commitment to classroom teaching and a desire to strengthen their teaching and leadership skills. Applicants must demonstrate fluency in spoken and written English and have a focus in one of the following fields of study: Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)/ Linguistics, Engineering, Science and Technology, or Business Administration and Economics.
