The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad recently hosted an event for IDP children from four different IDP camps in Baghdad. The kids got to go on the Embassy fire truck, wear fire-fighting equipment and learn how to use a fire hose. The children also did arts and crafts projects, and had fun playing games with the embassy staff followed by a special lunch. “Everyone is so nice!”, “I want to come every day”, “I loved the ice cream and the kebab”, “The best activity was the dancing”, and “We can play the same games at the camp” are just some of the quotes from the children asked about the experience. The U.S. remains committed to help the Iraqi forces in retaking and stabilizing liberated areas so Iraqi children and their families can return safely to their homes and build bright future for Iraq.
