Consul General Waller joined UNDP and USAID representatives, along with Governor Ali Tatar and Minister of Health Saman Hussein Muhammad, in a ribbon cutting ceremony for a newly established Covid-19 Isolation Ward in Duhok. The 20-bed ward is designed to handle the most severe Covid-19 patients and will later be repurposed to treat patients with other respiratory illnesses. The project was constructed by UNDP and funded by USAID. “The United States is proud to continue helping communities through building facilities like this one. We will continue to work with the KRG as we face this pandemic, and we will all come through this together,” said U.S. Consul General Rob Waller.
